Hello AquaBear Families!

It is hard to imagine we are into March, but here we are and its time to get back into the pool!

TOMORROW March 4th is day one of Clinic. Clinic is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Nights 6:30-7:45pm/8:00pm
(time in the pool is only an hour from its start)

Always leave the locker-room clean (towels in the buckets, trash picked up, no clothes left on the floor) Swimmers that leave their items out will have to collect them in lost and found. Please be considerate of all members and personal belongings.
Locker rooms are for changing and showering only. No playing or messing around is acceptable. You should be able to get in and out of the locker-room within a few minutes, this includes your shower time.
As we know, or need to remember, all swimmers that are independent or unsupervised are to use the junior locker room for changing and showering.
Please do not use the junior locker room if the swimmer needs help changing or showering. Independent Juniors only in the Junior Locker Room, no parents or guardians.
The adult locker rooms may be used by swimmers that require parent or guardian assistance and supervision for changing and showering. It is expected that proper locker room etiquette is followed at all times and that the parent or guardian is present with the swimmer while in the adult locker room.

AGES: Children under the age of 4 may go with their parent in to the parent's adult locker room, regardless of the child's gender. Children 4 and up must go into their identified gender locker room or use their identified gender junior locker room. A PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT WITH THE CHILD From age of 4 on, children can not go into the locker-room opposite of their gender identification.
You may not send your child into the adult locker room solo while you wait in the club. An adult is required to accompany a swimmer into the adult locker room. \
If ever you are unsure... ask and we will be happy to clarify!

Hot Tub/Spa Use:Any swimmer UNDER 14 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT or DIRECTLY SUPERVISED by an adult on the benches.
Swimmer may take a quick warm up in the hot tub, but only with a parent or guardian present. Please do not send your swimmer to the hot tub and wait inside. If you are unable to sit with them while they soak, then they must not use the hot tub.
Hot Tub etiquette is required at all times. Spend no more than 5 minutes to warm up and then exit.
Bubbles on or Bubbles off...do not get in and out and change it.
There is a limit of 7 people in the hot tub. This applies to 7 adults, but we should be conscience of it and make room for everyone. If there is an adult already in the hot tub, be respectful. We are all members and have to make room for proper use and time.

We will start
dry-land workouts at 6:30pm. Please come in your athletic shoes so you don't slip on the deck. The dry-land workout will begin the warm ups. Swimmers will be in the pool at 6:45pm and will swim for an hour. In the event it is raining, as it has been known to do in the spring, dry-land will be inside and pool time will still be in the pool, so long as we do not have lightening.

Each week will focus on refining the skills for each stroke.
Your Clinic coaches are:
Head Coach: Greg Gimelli
Assistant Coach: Brice
Assistant Coach: Shruti (Mondays and Thursdays)
Assistant Coach: Nic (Tuesdays)

Dawn and Deb will be at the front desk to help in payment processing. If you are unable to meet with us at the front desk, please check in and ask for your invoice. The staff will then be able to process your payment.

If you have
not yet signed up for Clinic and still want to jump in, please follow the link to register.

We are excited to start our season!!!  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Hello AquaBear Families!

For Valentine's Day we wanted to share the love with sign ups! Clinic starts March 4th and Team begins April 1st!

With the great help of Amilia Glikman, Dawn McQuirk, and Alison Carroll we have put together a set of ByLaws to support the AquaBear team and development. As a part of these Bylaws we have a new set of Swimmer and Parent/Family Agreements. These documents are intended to serve the team as it grows and adapts each year.

The priority and focus of the team this year will be as it has been every year, to make the team happen for the kids. Everything we do is for each family and our swimmers as a whole community. More than ever it takes many hands to get the work done effectively. We cannot do this alone. We need each person to actively contribute so that the work is not carried and maintained by the few amazing members that give their time every time we have a need. In the past we asked for a minimal ten hours per family, but as we joined the Sacramento Swim League we found these hours did not support our required volunteering by the  league. As a result of these changes, we have to adapt and adjust. The new agreement of volunteer hours will be outlined in our documents and Bylaws (found under the Team Forms tab).

The biggest change to the agreements is the requirement and security of fulfilling your volunteer hours. Each family is required to provide a deposit for your time allotment. We are asking for you to provide a deposit of $100 for the season and $50 for two days of Championships, a total of $150, in separate deposits, made payable to Natomas AquaBears. These can be provided by cash or check only. All monies collected will be held by the team treasurer until the closing of our season at the awards dinner. The full details will be provided for your reading and signing.

At the bottom of this email you will find there is the link for the official registration to clinic and team. In an effort to streamline the process, we are trying out making the registration one per family. It makes the form longer, but hopefully only having to enter family details once will make it easier. If you have any questions during the registration process, please do not hesitate to email, text or call me.  Also attached are the club flyers for both programs.

Families that do not want to actively complete in swim meets can sign up for a swim for fitness option. This option is for swimmers who want to train and workout for fitness. Cost is $175. There is not a requirement for volunteer hours or security deposits in this option (though if you are really wanting to help at meets, we won't say no!). If you make this selection and later want to complete in swim meets, the option must be changed and difference paid by May 1st.
